On Wednesday, March 9th, the winners of the Scholastic Press Forum Awards were announced in Springfield, MA. Panther TV, the student produced news show at Plymouth South High School entered numerous news segments into the contest, and had great success. Here are the titles they were awarded:
Panther TV was named Best TV News Program in all of New England.
They also won 11 individual awards, more than any other program in the region.
Plymouth South Winners were:
Diane Coon, Katy Kelly, and Tina Creutz for Best Overall TV Feature Story “A Day in the Life of a Rodeo”
Ricky Duddy and Walter Cicchetti for 3rd place for Best TV feature story “A Day in the Life of the Plymouth Police”
Sara Amell for Best TV News Story: “Behind the Scenes of Panther TV”
Diane Coon for Honorable Mention for News Story: “Plymouth South Overcrowding”
Sara Amell for Honorable Mention for News Story: “Tech Talk: Carpentry & Electrical”
Diane Coon, Katy Kelly, and Tina Creutz for 1st place for Best Videography: “A Day at the Rodeo”
Ricky Duddy and Walter Cicchetti for 3rd place for Best Videography: “A Day in the Life of the Plymouth Police”
Carole Ann Vetter for Honorable Mention for Videography: “Plymouth Rock Internships”
Lauren Hoar and Diane Coon for Honorable Mention for Videography “Rachel’s Challenge”
Marissa Arponen for Honorable Mention for Sports “Fall Sports Wrap”
Diane Coon, Katy Kelly, and Tina Creutz for Honorable Mention for Sports “A Day at the Rodeo”
