Get ready to cut loose as the PSHS theatre guild prepares the musical Footloose for audiences on May 15th and 16th, 2026!
Footloose is a 80’s musical about a teenage boy named Ren who moves to a small, conservative town where dancing is banned by a strict preacher named Reverend Shaw Moore. Ren rebels against the ban, inspiring local teenagers to overturn the law and feel happiness again through dance.
South’s interpretation of the musical will be directed by Ms. Colleen Egan, co-directed and musically directed by Mr. Luciana, choreographed by Ms. Riley Burke, and stage managed by Liv Turini. As the show heads closer, the directing team would like to share why you should come see this show!
Egan shares, “This show is unlike any other. Behind its humor and catchy songs, it reminds you to hold onto what you love and find your joy. Come kick off your Sunday shoes and cut loose with us!”

The students working the production are also excited. Turini says, “Footloose has been a very fun experience and the best show to conclude my position as a stage manager. Everyone has been working so hard, it’s a show you don’t want to miss!”
The theatre guild is very excited to put on this show. With over 40 students in the cast and crew, everyone is working very hard to make this show as fun, heartfelt, and successful as it can possibly be. It will be the end of a long process, with auditions starting pre-February break and the entire crew and cast working for the past several months.
Tickets are on sale for audiences to purchase. Tickets cost $7 for PPS students, and $12 for general admission. The running time is around 120 minutes with a 15 minute intermission in between. It will be performed in the PSHS PAC at 7pm on both May 15th and 16th. Please come show your support for the theatre guild this May and get ready for a night full of excitement!
